Default 05 Lx470 Catalytic failure

hey guys,
Was wanting your expertise on an issue I am having. My wife's 2005 LX470 is having issues with the bank 2 cat. P0430.
Now I replaced the bank one when it failed a year or so back. I know it was inevitable that this one was going to fail as well. But, I just didn't want to spend the dough. And we don't have emission testing in TN. so no real reason to other than the check engine lights.
Anyways, on my 01 es300 I had issues with the knock sensor. I just found a hack on the forum and it worked like a charm.

My question is do you guys think that hacking the good bank one sensors to the ECU would have the same effect?

Thanks a bunch!
Cheers,
Matt

So, you're working on a truck that cost someone north of $60K when new...and you're willing to ghetto-rig it. I'd simply pull the driver's display, remove any led's or bulbs related to service issues, and call it a day.

Yes, without question, I am thinking of "ghetto-rigging" it. It's emissions?!?
I am aware of it costing 60k... 11 years and 150k miles ago. But, I'm not willing to drop 2k on a problem that causes a complaint by my wife because of a check engine light...
My dad builds racecars for a living and I've learned to take good care of my automobiles. That's why the LX has 150k on it and my ES has upwards of a quarter million miles on it.

SMH on throwing money down the drain. Some people have more money than brains...

BTW for anyone that does not have the mindset, or wallet, to blow 2k on new cats. I fixed the problem with a 3 dollar capacitor and $1.50 resistor from radioshack.
Took all of 15 minutes to do the hack.
Also, saved me about 2 grand...
If anyone has the problem let me know and I would be happy to help!

Cheers, Matt

Your SUV will not pass emissions tests. Can't fake it either.
How many miles are on your SUV?
