Recommended Repairs/Service
I own a 1999 LX470 with ~48K miles. I recently got a report from a Lexus dealer, after a multi-point inspection, recommending the following repairs/service (for which they would charge several thousand dollars):
1) Alternator replacement (no charging output).
2) Fan/drive belt replacement (drive belt is cracked).
3) Timing belt (and therefore water pump) replacement (due to miles and time).
4) Boots - Axle - Inner: Right and left side axle boots are torn on inners.
5) Fuel filter replacement (reason not stated).
6) Suspension fluid reservoir: fluid service (reason not stated).
I'd appreciate any comments about how urgent or necessary the items other than the alternator are. For example, is the timing belt/water pump replacement necessary now based on time, despite low mileage? (I've read conflicting comments about how much time matters for that part.)

2. I'd replace as a matter of course due to age.
3. Same.
4. I'd replace the boots at the very least. To do that, you yank the shafts. Given age, I'd probably replace the axle/boot assemblies.
5. Fuel filter...obvious...age.
6. AHC fluid needs to be flushed every 60K...given age on the truck I'd do that too...2 cans of fluid and well less than an hour for labor.
I'd also have the dealer check AHC pressure on 4 corners. I would bleed the brakes while at the dealer...you need a connection to Toyota/Lexus (or good indy shop) to set the ABS unit so the fluid there can be bled.
