You need to purchase the updated NAV DVD from your local dealer... they can assist you in putting the new disk in, but its pretty simple.

Don't pay more than 169 or so. Sewell in Houston/Dallas sells them for this amount. I think this was the number I was quoted from my dealer locally, so same price.

Default iOffer for LX GPS Update

Has anyone purchased the DVD GPS upgrade from iOffer? They are selling them for $56.00 for Gen 4 ver 12.

I just updated the GPS Disc for my 2006 LX470. The disc from iOffer works fine!

I was wondering the very same thing!

I just bought a 2004 LX470 yesterday, and started researching the nav. I also found another site that offers it for $29.99. Worried that these may be faulty, or worse yet have a virus in them (I read something about older Lexus nav systems being infected with a virus from bluetooth paired phones when they first came out!)

Any insight from the community on what must be 3rd party rip-off dvd's would be greatly appreciated. I don't mind gambling the $30, but wouldn't want to put my Nav system in any sort of jeopardy.

My guess is that these sellers are making copies on DVD+R DL and selling them.

I will buy the iOffer. Thanks Cozzi for the info. I've been searching for a cheaper disc for a long time. $56.70 is not too bad.

Default $29 disc guinea pig

So I went ahead and ordered the $29 disk that I linked to above.

Once it arrives and I try to load the new data, I'll report back if it worked or not!

Wish me luck....

The disk from sellers on "ioffer" is DVD-R copy, it's not an original disk. Be aware.

Default Latest Navigation DVD Update on 2004 Lexus LX470

Hi... All. Just recently purchased my truck that hadn't been updated since purchased new. I first tried the site Tradebit and found the $29 offer too good not to try. I quickly learned that some things are too good to be true. The seller from the site wasn't owning up to his end of the bargain, so I promptly contacted Tradebit and they refunded my money. Great service by the way. I searched again for another provider vs paying the $169 at the dealer and found the ioffer site. I was a little leery about going with another under the table so to speak provider, but $56 sounded a lot better than the $169.

It the process was a little different, but I'm assuming its set up that way to keep them somewhat protected. I received the latest Navigation DVD in the mail as expected. Its does look like a copy, but I installed it and it loaded without issues. Great buy at $56.

For anyone else looking to update the DVD to the latest version available, ioffer is a great choice.. Installation was very easy going be instructions found on the web.

Thanks. Does updating the maps change the ability to override the navigation system so you can input addresses while moving? I thought I had read that before.

just wondered what everyone thinks about a dealer set of GPS udates vs someone who makes copies like
iOffer?

I have a set on backorder for my 2003 LX from Sewell and the iOffer is pretty tempting- just don't want future issues or something to happen to the equipment due to copies.

thoughts?

Sorry, I haven't tried doing that yet. I'll have to give it a try and see. I'll report back later.
