Default LX470 tires

I have a 2004 LX470 and had great results with Michelin Touring 275 60R 18 tires. I hear they are being discontinued. Any recommendations of other brands? I was told Hankook tires were good on the LX470?

I have 22" Hankook on my 2000 LX-470, I enjoy them. But in Winter Time back into the Michelins

I just went through this. Used 265 65 18 Michelin LTX MS2 instead of the discontinued Michelin Pilots.

I also have the Michelin LTX MS2's (I think 275/65R18...1" larger than OEM size). They are superior to the previous OEM Bridgestone Dueller HT's. When the road is saturated by heavy rain, it's like it's not even there! Although there is lots of siping, the tread compound it too hard in cold weather to make it a great winter tire. It's adequate in the snow, but can't really stop well on ice. My Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3's on my RWD LS430 leave the LX w/ all-season Michelins in the dust in the winter. If you live where it snows, I'd get a winter performance tire or pure snow tire, depending on location. Here in N. NM, it's snowy maybe 10% of the time with the rest of the time being dry & sunny, so a winter perf tire will do. If you live in, say, UP Michigan where there's snow/ice on the ground almost every day and the road seldom dries, I'd get a dedicated snow tire.

What's the effect of speedometer, odometer and gasoline consumption when you change to the larger tires?

Default 265 65 18 Michelin LTX MS2

We have a new set of four 265 65 18 Michelin LTX MS2 on our 03 LX470. About 2,000 miles now. When balanced, the ride is super smooth and quiet. Truck feels higher; have not compared speedo to GPS. Keep them rotated evey 5k miles and you will be happy.

After some research, I had decided to go with Michelin LTX MS2, now the stock size was 275 60 18, why some of you guys go with 265 65 18, which is narrower, I am going with 275 65 18. Now the question is weather to get 4 or 5 as this size is not the same with stock 275 60 18, when the time comes I will have Costco people take a look at my brand new spare, that's never used. I will only do a 4 tire rotation. Would it be damaging to the 4wd system, if I use a different size spare for say a couple hundred miles on the highway speed?

I made a typo. We bought the 275 65 18 tires, not 265.

Do any of you have any experience in Michelin Latitude Tour HP, it seem like they don't have as good of snow and offroad performance. They do however have the size of 275 60 18.

I have the "265/70/18" Michelin MS2's. the 70's are a little bigger but look better should wear longer and cost less.

I think if you do the math the 265/65/18 is bigger in everyway to the one you are thinking about. Look at the 265/70/18, much bigger

I went with 275 65 18 Michelin LTX MS2, 5 tires. So far they ride very smooth, sits 1" taller look really nice.

Great choice and size/look. When you check you mpg add 1 mpg since your tires are bigger.
