Default Trailer Hitch Extender/adaptor For Bike Rack? For 2004 LX 470

Hello

I have LX 470, 2004 and have the bail mount that came with the adaptor for the trailer hitch. However, when I tried to mount my Thule T2 to the hitch, there is no place to fit the pin.

Is there an extender/adaptor for bike rack?

Thank you

is your hitch in the bumper or one that hangs below the bumper? I'm assuming its the one in the bumper, considering the year.

I went through this while looking for an LX. The info I found (on this site) said the Thule rack was too deep for the in-bumper hitch on the LX. If your hitch is UNDER the bumper, you're fine.

I'm looking for a hitch-mounted bike carrier (x2) for my 2003 LX. Do any of you know what brand works for our LX? We have the in bumper hitch.

Thanks in advance!

Default A bike rack that works

I have the same truck and had the same problem finding a rack. I found a rack that works. Thule 914 Roadway. That's a 4 bike rack. (Thule 912 Roadway is a 2 bike rack.)

I think I had to loosen and push the spare tire back an inch or so. But it's been fine since then.

Take the T2, add a saw and trim the end of the rack off a bit so it fits.

I'm trying to find the piece that mounts to the bumper that the bike rack can go into. I saw one the other day with a ball receive in it so I know it is out there!

Thanks.

Sorry it’s been a year since I posted. But problem solved. Omar at Chantilly Repair Center (“CRC”) ordered a star wrench (see picture). Also, they moved the spare tire a little to accommodate the bike rack.

Factory trailer hitch pre-2007 is built into the frame and needs an adapter (see picture).

Note on Thule T2 and factory trailer hitch on Lexus LX 470. T2 drops down to allow you to open the rear doors, but with the factory hitch, you cannot lower the rear lower door down all the way. Hitch is too high and will damage your lower door.

when searching for parts, try "Toyota Land Cruiser"

While we’re on the subject, anyone buy after market trailer hitch? If so, which brand/model? How much did it cost to install?

Thanks.
