The problem is the "burner", the ceramic-covered filament that runs alongside the bulb is offset too far. You can either cut a groove in the housing at the bottom, or crush the bottom 1/8" of ceramic and bend the bottom of the burner in. Obviously cutting the groove is the more difficult, but safer route.
that makes sense. i'll let him know and see what he wants to do... thanks guys.

I just changed the low's and fog's to 10000k HID's and it gives a blueish bright @$$ white tint to it and boy do i love these things! They are litteraly blinding. And my buddy threw on the same kit but 8000k on his 02 and it gives out a more purpleish tint. But then he threw the same kit (8000k) on his 02 gs and it gives that blueish tint that mine has on the 03? I thought it was suppose to be more purpleish with the higher color temp? Ah well, I'll take pics of them side by side when he comes down here. Now i was wondering about the High's. I heard that if you put an HID kit on the high's it will not have the day time running lights? Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone changed out their highs on the LX yet?

Just know that 10000k HIDs are WAY dimmer than 4300k HIDs

Also the blue that comes from a 10000k HIDs can make you really dizzy
and it does not have a good cutoff

You *could* do your HIs w/ HID, but I would do the DRL disable mod. You also realize that the HIs are not projector housings, right?

Yes i do realize that they are not projectors! And i am looking for someone to compare the 4300k's to because i did hear that they are brighter but due to the outcome of my new HID's, I want to see it for myself in person because my new set is waaaayy brighter than anyone elses i see on the road (around here that is). And like i said in my other post, my buddys GS has the 8000k that look like my 10000k in the projectors and was wondering why that was? Could it be the projector housing causing the light to shoot a different color temp? On the 2002 LX my buddies has an audi tint to it (purple) and his are 8000k compared to my 10000k that shoot bright white with blue tint to it. From what i've read in other HID specific forums is that 6000k white, 8000k is blueish white, 10000k is ice blue, and 12000k is purple? But i aint no HID technician, i'm just going off of what i've read all around. And since my buddies is shining purple with 8000k and mine is blueish with 10000k i'm so confused now! And since his GS are giving out the same blue on his 8000k as my 10000k, i'm wondering if it will produce the same color as my lows and fogs or will i have to order the 8000k to match it? I'll try and take pictures tonight and post them because i did hear that the 4300k and 6000k are supposedly brighter, but after seeing mine installed, i am questioning that, and you guys can see for yourself from the picture what i am talking about.

But why do you recommend i take off the DRL when/ if i install hid's in the highs? is it bad for them or something?

This is a bad picture from my cell phone but I'll add better ones from my camera when it gets dark tonight! Dosent seem like they have less light output but i'd like to see in person just to verify. This is from about 75 yards away and looks ice blue but compared to others ive seen, this is a small tint of blue. The blue isnt so obvious in person. This is with both the lows and fog lights on and they both have 10000k in them. Let me know what you guys think, i enjoy the critisism, good or bad, it gives me a better idea of what to do next.

Yeah, I opted for the blue because i have the light blue LX. Otherwise, i would've done the GS/ IS look with the yellow fogs like you. I'm a huge fan of that color pattern with the HID's but since i had a blue car and the running boards have that hyper white look with the blue tint, I thought i'd try to match em up! It looks like I'm going to have to change those bulbs out now!

But i just passed about 5 cops on my way home the other day and still no trouble from them, so far (knock on wood)!!
