ABS activating unexpectedly while on Highway!
I own a 2003 Lx470 with 60,000 miles.
My husband was driving on I 70 about 70 MPH. The interstate was dry and we were on a straight section when suddenly the ABS system activated. Well, we’re guessing that’s what happened. The car started fish tailing and husband described a “grabbing” sensation coming from the front end but it was not happening at the same time on both sides. He had no control. There was also a loud beeping sound. It was scary as hell! We had our two little ones in the back seat. It happened two more times before we could exit the interstate.
We had the the car towed back to our local mechanic. The day prior we had had the following work done: oil changed, steering aligned, front brakes and rotors replaced. Mechanic looked everything over and they don’t see any problems.
Any suggestions? Clearly something is wrong!
