Default New Wheels for '06 LX470

I am considering buying a new set of wheels for my 2006 LX470. Just called the Lexus dealer and found out that OEM wheels are around $600/ea. Uh, no.
So I'm wondering if any of you have done this with either used OEM wheels or with aftermarket wheels. I know NOTHING about wheels...wouldn't know a good one from a bad one. I do know that I want the tire pressure sensors to continue working and for the existing (newish) tires to transfer over.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Bob

i found a used set off an lx570 for my wife's 2006. They are 20inch instead of the 17 or 18 inch factory. So you have to make sure when you buy tires they have the same outside diameter as the OEM 2006 tires. They do have a shorter side wall so the ride is a little different . The car looks better and handles better and the price was great $600 for all 4.

Thanks WInterturb for your suggestion. I'd only consider wheels that match the OEM dimnensions. Would not go to 20's.

The rims from a 200 series will most likely not fit on a 100 series as the hubs are different sizes. The bolt pattern may be the same but if I recall the 100 series has larger hubs so the center cap would not fit.

Go to tirerack.com if you want to look at aftermarket wheels. You can even view them on the vehicle.

Winterturb, how did you get wheels to fit on yours? I have some 2017 LC 18" rims I wanted to put on my 2004 LX470 but they would not fit as the hubs on the 2004 are bigger. Do you have a picture?

Hub sizes on both 100 and 200 series are identical at 110 mm. They also share a 5 lug on 150 mm bcd and 14 mm studs.

Just watch the wheel offset...you may need a set of spacers especially with a set of non-Toyota rims.

My LX came from the PO with a spare set of OEM wheels he bought from somebody online that put on aftermarket wheels. I see them often daily cheap on Craigslist since people are always modding these rigs. The good thing about buying OEM is that they tend to be cheaper since many want something fancier or unique from the aftermarket suppliers, and also you can very often find them with tires still fitted as part of the package, so you can end up with a great deal for 4-5 heels and tires.

Direct fit 18 x 8 rims with 275/65-18 Michelin A/T
I like the off road look.

$1350.00 delivered off Ebay
I did have to hole saw the front caps and paint the wheel bearing hubs on front. (bearing hub ended up flush with the cap)
Removed the Toyota emblems on all 4.
