Default Active Height Control Suspension?

When I start my 2004 LX470 in the morning and put it in reverse the front end of the vehicle drops down and then goes up. The active height control suspension is ON and is set in the N mode. No lights flash when the vehicle's front end drops down and then goes up.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing the front end to drop down and then go up, upon starting the vehicle and backing up?

Mine sporadically (2x/month or so) burps or zero's herself when I start her up...no idea as to why, as I've got 8 graduations on the tank from low to high.

I went out this morning to get a couple of 5 gal. cans of diesel for the tractor. When I started her later, the back end dropped down just a bit, compensating for about 70 pound of fuel no longer in the truck...AHC is relatively sensitive, imo...but it works perfectly.

Lights do not flash as you haven't manually changed the height via the switch on the console.

Default Service Bulletin 2006

I had similar problems back in 2006. I brought my lx470 into a dealer for service on it and they informed me that it was a known issue. Because it wasn't a recall but labeled as a service bulletin Lexus doesn't track down owners to have it repaired. I attached a screenshot of how the dealership noted the problem on my service history.

Thumbs up RE: LX 470 2006 Height Control System Issues

Thank you so much for your post. It is exactly what I am experiencing. I especially appreciate the copy of your Service Report.
