Does any one know of an LX470 owner who has installed the TRD supercharger?

I installed one on my 98 LX about a month ago. I took about 11 hours. The instructions are pretty thorough, just take your time. You should purchase new intake manifold gaskets even though the instructions says you might be able to reuse them. I bought the S/C kit from West Covina Toyota in LA area. Bob Garner at TRD is really helpful if you need techinal assistance. The only real problem I had was that the belt was a little short and wouldn't fit. Bob sent me a replacement right away; he thinks that they may have gotten a bad batch, even and eight inch too short and you won't be able to install it. The difference in torque and horsepower is very noticeable. I also have the TRD exhaust system.

Yes, by all means please post some pics. Your at altitude and I travel across some big mountain passes here in Colorado...the supercharger kit is on my list of want for my LX. Tell me more.....could I ask the best price you found for the kit. I too plan to install myself.

I gave up on the charger after trying to get it for several months and final did get my local dealer to figure out how to order it but the declined to install it as they had not done one before. I figured if their affriad maybe I should be? Has anyone that has installed it been unhappy in anyway? Is it great, good, worth its issues? How about real cold climate operations?

What kind of gain in hp and performance do you gain from the addition of a supercharger?

What kind of drop off do you have in fuel economy? (not that there was much to start with anyway)

I know the sc is around $3,800 but what is the cost for labor?

The dealer is still working on it has been 2 days already. The belts have to be changed because the old ones do not fit with the supercharger. Little hint so you don't waste valuable time waiting.
