Hey guys,

Long story short, winter is coming, and unfortunately ill be using the LS during the winter months, so I wanted to lay a good dose of wax on the car, to help protect it from the elements.

Came across a claybar kit + wax and decided to give it a try, if its just another gimmick or scam id just return it , no skin off my back.

Anyways I was literally AMAZED at how much dirt and grime, these claybars removed from my (already Clean) car, in fact, my entire car, is at least a shade or two lighter then it was before this process, it worked so well, I really felt I needed to recommend it to those that might not know much about them.

For those that didn't know(like myself) they are literally just bars of clay, and for some reason they have the ability to completely pick up and hold onto any dirt and grime that has made its way INTO your cars finish.

When using it you can literally HEAR it scraping and picking up grime and dirt, that in my case I didn't even know was there.

I followed the recommendations on the box, first I washed the car thoroughly with car soap, then washed it again to rinse, then used the claybar.

Here are a few pics of how much dirt and grime are buried INTO our finishes.

By the way , since buying my car on October 15th , ive washed it 10 times or more with a pressure washer, I really thought my car was spotless.

2. is the second time
3. the rear door was claybared and the front was not, its hard to see, but trust me, very noticeable in person

if it wasn't so cold I would of went a 3rd and 4th time, but its freezing out here.

 

anyways , if you haven't claybared your car, do it, there is a ton of gunk and dirt on there u cant see

after 2 claybars I gave the car a good wax, im super impressed with the results, and I feel like ive done the car a good service.

u can see the right side claybared, left side not, in person the results were much easier to see.

I've found for those of us who don't have a garage that it's definitely good to put multiple coats of wax on the car especially in those areas where water can accumulate or splash. Been doing it now for over 15 years!!! I just received my package of the 3M Paint Protection film that I will be installing along the lower body panels especially behind each wheel to help protect from the debris that splashes onto the paint. In most cases this is where the corrosion can begin if you don't get those wet leaves or the road tar fling off the car as soon as possible. Later!

lol good eye , I got the mothers clay bar kit and then mothers spray on wax, it seems like a very good quality product to me

 

I generally clay my vehicles every spring. BTW, I suggest you remove your ring before doing anything with the paint as it can leave nasty marks. I forgot once with my late wife's Miata - oops.

For long lasting and easy to apply wax, I recommend Collinite 845 Insulator Wax. It really highlights sparkle out of Silver and gold cars.

 

thanks BMW, yea im really new to the detailing and polishing end of things, Ive tried to troll the detailing section from time to time but things move so slow there, and so many people have so many different opinions on what products work and what ones don't.

and yea caddy , I was very mindful of my ring lol

All it needs is some ceramic tint and some classy wheels.
