I drove one, it's very nice inside and the HUD for me is the most standout feature by far but I personally think Lexus made a mistake giving the LS badge to this car. Ride is just too firm/sporty and the lack of a V8 engine is the single most disappointing thing about it and I have very little interest in owning one at any point even after inevitable depreciation makes it make more sense. The current A8 is more in line with the class and the BMW is better to drive, no experience with the S class about 2015 though so can't comment. If lexus offered a version with the 5.0 the car would be my first pick, as it sits I have near no interest since it's small, doesn't excite enough, not enough power to validate the styling and quite frankly just has the wrong number of cylinders that nags at me.
If a so called "LSF" with the 5.0 was a thing or even better a version with twin turbos and AWD it would be fantastic and draw my attention away from the likes of the CTSV, hellcat, trackhawk, Z06, ZL1, Viper since while those offer such massive performance they are not the best quality overall however Lexus just doesn't offer anything competitive. It's hard for me to make sense of spending current gen LS money at any level when for the same cost I could have so much more performance or I can pay way less and have a larger and more comfortable car for daily use. 100k=at least 650hp and serious performance in my mind since for only 45k I can and have built a lot more so if I am buying something new it had better be a hell of a overall package out of the box with room to grow.
The LS500 is just not that. It has a weird feeling of cheapness to it instead of being a shameless pillar of excess like a flagship luxury sedan should be, the fact a hybrid is offered says it all in my mind.......the optional engine should be an LFA V10 not some Prius non-sense. Mercedes and BMW/Audi understand this and lexus never really has that some people just want more of everything and to hell with mpg or stupid concerns like that.
Id be surprised if any vehicle with rain sensing wipers did not allow you to turn them off and use the wipers manually. Sounds like a law suit waiting to happen. On the LS500, you can turn off the rain sensing wipers.
I guess I did not make myself clear. I mean that you can turn the Rainsense off which allows the wipers to be operated in an "intermittent" mode that can be adjusted to wipe at the intervals you want, not Rainsense decide for you. Of course they all have low and high speed settings where they operate continuously. Rainsense virtually never operates at an intermittent cycle I'm happy with. I'd guess I've owned at least ten, probably more, vehicles with Rainsense. I hate them.

Yep, it has a much better engine and the interior is just as nice.
A potential detour from this thread; but I'd like to think when Lexus came up with the name LS500, they had the LC500 NA 5L V8 engine in mind....wish they offered that powertrain for the LS500. The entire (exterior and interior) design of the LC500 is absolutely stunning; though they made I believe some notable changes from the initial 2018 model to the 2019 under the covers.

Nope I would its got nice interior but not better than LS for sure the engine and exhaust sounds are amazing but the backseat in the LS is all that needs to be said.
