Default New LS 500 Owner...

Took delivery of 2018, though still new car with 150 miles on the odometer Tues 05/28. Put in shop on Friday. Within 10 miles of ownership driver seat not working, steering making loud noise at low speed, variable suspension not working consistently. Shop mgr just called me and told me suspension working fine, nothing wrong with steering (normal to make loud noise?) and battery was low so that's why seat wouldn't work properly. Funny, passenger seat worked fine. Sigh...New car, not happy. Had 2015 Avalon with zero issues. Regretting decision to trade it in.

If you're not satisfied with their findings, take it to another dealer.

It's not normal for the steering wheel to make any noise, let alone a loud noise. The battery most likely needs to be replaced if it has been sitting idle all this time. What is the date of manufacture of your car?

04/2018 is build date.

Hoping dealership fixes all issues with this new car, but probably will have to take to another dealer 70+ miles away.

Might be best to tell the service manager that you are going to call Lexus corporate and complain about their poor service as well as all the issues that you have had since you bought the car. He will wake up quickly. If he says that noise from the steering wheel is normal ask him to drive with you in another LS500 and see if that car makes noise.

OEM batteries tend to be not the best quality. I may be wrong in your new 500 but I generally invest in a nice AGM once I purchase a vehicle. It sucks to have some issues right off the bat but it's also not realistic to judge the whole brand because of your issues. Especially if they are not common. When dealing with dealers express your frustration in a respectful but serious way. If you start getting upset and become threatening they will blow you off no matter how much money you spent. Treat them how you desire to be treated and it will work to your advantage.

Congratulations on the new car. I'm sure it will work out.

Congrats on the car, hopefully this gets resolved. Definitely threaten them, with a call to corporate, as my steering wheel makes no noise, for your suspension what exactly do you mean, when its not working consistently. If this is the selling dealership they should do everything to make you happy.

Congrats on the new car. Must be quite an upgrade to go from an Avalon to a LS. Drives really differently too.

May I ask which dealership you are having issues with?

Too bad you didn't test drive or rent a 2019 Avalon. It's a major upgrade from the 2015 Avalon in ride comfort, queitness and seat comfort.

Default Seat issue

So I had the same issue... the seat needed to be re-initiated. That’s basically is and it’s common. That being said not every dealer knows to do that. Steering noise doesn’t sound right. How loud is the noise? What type of noise is it?
