I am considering the A8, but I prefer a SWB version. I hold hopes for a future AWD Lexus GS/ES or a redesigned SWB LS with a new touch based MMI with Apple Car Play....

The A8 is indeed a BFC (big fu**** car). It's wider and longer than a long wheelbase S class. That said, in Canada, the SWB S class is still available, but I expect that to go away, just like the short wheelbase A8 for 2019 is now gone as well.

I feel the LS500 in current size is perfect. Big, but not a BFC. That said, the A8 feels much much much smaller than the LS500 because of rear wheel steering. It is beyond comprehension how small the A8 feels in day to day operation, despite its gargantuan size.

Audi's implementation of rear-wheel steering is very impressive and probably one of the most aggressive rear-steering systems to date (in terms of the degree they actually can steer). If I'm not mistaken, the A8 with rear-wheel steering has the same turning circle as an A4 which is quite the feat.

I found this list that shows "all the cars you can buy with four-wheel steering" and there are only 23 cars. Quite an exclusive list with some great company in there

Yes, Audi claims the A8 has the same turning circle (or really really close to the turning circle) of an A4. In a very tight parking lot that I was forced to navigate around, I was floored. More impressive than that is the feeling of lane changes on the highway. One typically gets a small lean in roll movement on longer/big cars like these flagships, but on the A8 there is none. It's freaky, really, and moreso for me because the A8 has softer suspension than the 5LS!
