Default Does anyone know how to get through the firewall?

As part of my 5LS buying decision criteria, I need to know if anyone here knows how to get through the firewall. (think laser jammers/radar detectors). Does anyone know which grommet I have to pull in order to feed a cable through the firewall or do I need to drill a hole in order to pass a cable through?

I spent a good 10 minutes today poking around but I have no clue.

I am sure LS500 has it. All Toyotas and Lexus usually have at least one firewall rubber grommet, with extra holes that the owner can punch out and use without drilling the firewall. FYI its usually which-ever side the interior fuse box is.

Ah crap. If that's the case then it would be on the passenger side then for us left hand drive folks.

Can anyone confirm this for a fact?

Thanks again!

Also it is usually right above the steering shaft and accelerator pedal.

Ok so this is weird then. The fuse box is on the passenger side on left hand drive cars, and obviously this grommet in the quote you're referencing is on the driver's side.

Hmm.

I did see one black plastic grommet that I couldn't remove which I could fit what I need to, but I also did see a small black rubber grommet that would not be big enough.

I am just giving you some info based on me working on my own car. An LS500 owner will be much more helpful.

Find a grommet with an existing wire or wires, simply slide your wire next to it. You might need wd40 to help it slide through.
