Just sat in a 2019 ES at the dealer. The interior room appears to be roughly the same as in the LS 500. While the ES felt like it had slightly more headroom in the rear seats, it was actually harder to get into because the roof line on the side was lower. Other than that, they felt very similar, space-wise. The seats, of course, weren't nearly as nice as in the LS.

Oh, and in person, the 2019 ES is definitely NOT a "look alike" with the LS. Not even close.

As long loyalist of the LS for nearly 20 years now, have had 7 of them, I am seriously ticked off at Lexus' decision to emulate the LS with its ES version. That's a piece of marketing genius... where would be LS owners will now gravitate toward a cheaper version

We just sold 2008 ES350, and I am surprised people even compare ES and LS, they are vastly different, unless Lexus went crazy in upgrading ES this much...

Germans have been doing the same sausage different length. Look at the S/E/C class, A8/A6/A4, and 7/3/5

After seeing all the things I didn't like about the new LS compared even to my LS 430 I wanted to see how an ES compares. Finally sat in one at the dealership a couple of weeks ago and didn't even want to take the ES for a ride.

While the new LS is way more money than the ES and like many other things you really can't justify almost double the price, in my opinion while the specs are close the interior space seems tighter and nowhere near as luxurious as the LS.

Again, money wise I don't think you are getting a car worth twice the amount, but reluctantly I think I will get the LS 500

I agree. Finally had a chance to take a look at the 2019 ES when I took the LS in for its service. On websites and marketing material, the ES looks very similar to the LS but somehow standing in front of one, it is smaller and does not have the same kind of presence. However I did not have a chance to take it for a ride, so I'm not sure how close the ride quality is.

Agree with the above. I thought the new LS and ES looked quite similar when I saw them together in pictures. I finally laid my eyes on a new ES in the flesh and found that I would never confuse the two in real life. I love the looks of both of them, but I think there are plenty of differences.
