Default HP penalty for AWD?

Have not seen any notes on it, so I'm assuming they finally figured out how to not choke the AWD version.

Don't recall any other manufacturers having to resort to reducing power for AWD versions. Seems like second rate engineering.

No, there won't be any issue with reduced power for the 5LS.

Remember on the LS460, they added AWD to an already designed car. The reason for the lower HP for the AWD car is the design of the exhaust system in regards to space to fit the AWD components. The 5LS was designed from the get go to have an AWD variant, and the smaller engine helps with any space issues.

It's called SAE Spec. It's the proper way to certify cars. Since the spec came into use, I believe Toyota has found a way to overcome the loss.
