Do we have to buy a Hyundai now to get a library quiet interior?

“If there’s one complaint about the new Lexus’ cabin, it’s that there’s more wind and road noise than there ought to be. It’s noisier than the already noisy CT6 and markedly noisier than the Genesis G90.”

If you read/watch other reviews though they praise how quiet it is and say it’s just as quiet as an S Class. That’s the only review I’ve read wheee they say that. Have to wait and drive it ourselves.

The review still gives the car top grades for interior design and aesthetics . Heck, they even loved the spindle grille

For what it's worth, my 2017 Genesis G90 3.3L Twin Turbo is rated at 67 decibels at 70 mph (identical to the Mercedes S550), It also has a 37-decibel idle and 73-decibel full-throttle sound measurement, which beat the S550 by 3 and 2 decibels. I haven't heard any definitive decibel ratings for the new LS500 yet, but was hoping for similar (or better) sound deadening than my Genesis...

I don't trust those dB ratings at all, from Alex on Autos? 67 dB is much higher than other interior dB ratings you find from other sources.

I'd be interested in reading a more accurate measurement of the interior noise comparison between the Lexus LS, Mercedes S-class, and Genesis G90... Thanks for the input, Steve!

All these cars are pretty close to being as quiet as each other. I felt the G90 was as quiet as my LS and the S550 when I drove it.
