It's a production option, but details on packages and options haven't been released yet.

Details of packages and options for the LS500 are now available on the Lexus site, although there is no pricing information.

Briefly, the kiriko inlays (and pleated door panels) are only available in the Executive package (didn't check the hybrid). However, unlike the Executive package of previous years, the center armrest is foldable, so this package can technically seat five people. The other differences between the Exec and Luxury packages are the ottoman for the right rear seat and additional adjustment options for the power rear seats in the Exec package.

Just was invited to sit in a LS500H at the Fort Worth Auto Show. It had the kiriko inlays. They have a protective laminate cover over them so don't appear as sharp in person.

Maybe the protective film can be removed after purchase like on other products like the smartphone screen.

As the guy who who will never get one of these until it’s 12 years or more old, I am wondering how I’ll possibly find a clean one, or clean the one I find. Man... those are some complex surfaces in there!

I just got to check it out in person...it is striking to look at. As you look at it from different angles, the light hits it differently and it looks totally different. Big fan of the Kiriko glass.

Yes, I am also a big fan of the Kiriko panel. BUT why on earth would they mount it flipped such that we cannot feel the textured surface? I want to see the light reflections but also feel the surfaces. Bad decision, IMO. Maybe there is a safety issue...

I can see people scratching their hand on the pointy edges of the crystal when they open the door and wonder why lexus didn't put a cover over it.
