Ls500 non run flat tires for 2022 model
Hi, all.I am new to this forum.Thanks for your help in advance!
I have a 2022 LS 500 and am looking to switch to non run flat tires. Stock tire is 245 45 R 20.
My primary objective is ride comfort and quiet ride. I live in non snow area of California.
I'm considering pirelli scorpion all season plus three, and going to fifty series from stock forty five series.
any suggestions?

I just got a 2022 LS500 a couple months ago and the dealer had installed Vredestein Hypertrac All Season tires on the car. So far we are very happy with ride comfort and level of tire road noise. The tires are stock size so I can't speak to the change in aspect ratio you are considering.
If you do some searching which is upper right hand on this page you'll find a few discussions about what some of us have bought.
Michelins, Continentals, and Bridestone QuietTracks which I have are well reviewed. regardless of specifics most are happy to get new tires, but ones with noise reduction foam as part of construction made it more sedate sounding. Few if any complaints come from non runflats. Most of us put in high end tires and they do great. WE tend to advocate what we have if happy.

I personally would not mess around with installing a non-stock tire size on an LS500. Going to a 50 aspect tire instead of the OE 45 could affect the computer. Maybe not, but why mess with a good thing?
As for tire selection to replace the OE runflats, I bought 245/45/20 Bridgestone QuietTracks. I have put 10,000 miles on them with no complaints. We have a 23 year-old LS430 that has never had anything but Bridgestone Turanzas on it, so that influenced my decision to stick with Bridgestone. If you want a snow tire or some ultra high performance tire then maybe try something else. The QuietTracks are a great choice for a luxury sedan.

Why would you go to a different aspect ratio? Are you an engineer? The car was engineered and calibrated for this specific aspect.
Simple math says that this will change the circumference of the tire. Why would you want a different circumference?
If you want to change to a 50 aspect ratio, you need to go to the 19" wheel.
Changing to a non-specified aspect ratio is foolish. Don't listen to your tuner friends. They aren't engineers. Don't do it.

Your new tires are .96” taller than the OE tires. I believe that’s what the previous poster is referring to. It has to affect the car’s computer if only slightly.
I can see how this could affect things over many thousands of miles. Go for it if it pleases you. I would probably be hesitant to do so on a new car that is still under factory warranty.

I never really thought about the warranty aspect. You mentioned larger diameter tires may be an issue over many thousands of miles. Do you, or anyone else listening in, have knowledge of the possibility that, over many thousands of miles, 1 " larger diameter tires could be detrimental to the cars computers or otherwise???

You are correct, it shows what the car was designed for.
However, some of us like to achieve a ride comfort beyond what comes with the car. I am not an engineer, however, if the tire fits well in the wheelwell and if it seems there are no other likely risks, I would like to take a chance at this approx. 1" increase in tire size to optimize ride quality. The gentleman several posts ago has tried this idea without problems, so far at least. It would be helpful to know how many miles he has put on his car since the tire swap.
Some of us are ok taking a little risk if we can achieve our dream goal. With my body troubled with fibromyalgia pain, I may want to take that risk.
