Wireless Carplay problem
When I tried to use the native Lexus telephone voice control, I get an "attach a phone and try again, error message". If I try to reinstall my cellphone with the Ottocast plugged in, the car does not display the Bluetooth option.
Unplugging the Ottocast wireless adapter allows me to reinstall my cell phone.
I have reached out to Ottocast without success.
Is there a solution to this problem?
It also works better in my opinion.
The Lexus voice control for calls will only function if the phone is paired via wire or bluetooth.
In the current setup with Ottocast, you can still use the Lexus voice control for adjusting cabin temperature, tuning Sirius stations etc.
I have a 2019 and when I hit my steering wheel to speak a command I don't say "hey Siri". The command is taken.
I don't have my phone connected via blue tooth thru the native system. The OttoCast box and my blue tooth are connected directly.
I use Waze. No need for upgrades to my Lexus GPS. I don't subscribe to their services at all. Turn the car on, it goes right to CarPlay, and thats all. I rarely go into any menu really. HVAC is on "concierge" and only go it when I want massage.
Waze is better GPS I believe.
I get my Sirius thru the apple app, not the Lexus system. Reduced cost. I mostly use Tidal. My wife likes Sirius.
Its why you wanted CarPlay? Hope this helps. No right or wrong here. Different ways to get it done.
