Headlights not coming on
The headlights went out recently on my 2013 F-Sport. Low beam and high beam. Dealer said that both low beam bulbs are bad and quoted me $690 to replace. They said that once they're in there to replace the lows, they will be able to diagnose the high beams. Are the high beams more difficult to access than the low beams?
All headlights going out at the same time, doesn't sound like bulbs. High beams are rarely used compared to low beams. I'm suspicious of the dealer or something got lost in translation.
Although I haven't had to change mine yet, I believe there are only 2 bulbs for HID's and they are fairly cheap.

I am suspicious as well. Any ideas on what would be a more likely explanation, other than bulbs?

There are fuses and probably relays too. it's unlikely a 2013 has corrosion or loose connectors, but something to check. Light switch on stalk, daylight sensor for automaticlights on. It's likely to be a single component that serves all the lights. Has anything occurred just before the lights stopped working?

Maybe a OBD code is present, not sure, but worth getting it done. No telling if the dealer did it or not. Just some ideas that might help you. If you're not a DIY person, Toyota dealer or an independent shop can help. I've read too many posts about Lexus service replacing parts rather than tracking down the specific issue.
Your bulbs are about to bite the big green weiner, go to this link and scroll down to lighting and read about hid bulbs.

Thanks for the advice. I had a set of Osram Night Breaker Laser installed today. Thought about doing it myself, using some of the knowledge others have shared here, but just didn't have the time. I'll see how these lights perform when I get behind the wheel at night.
My car has HID lights, so just the single bulb, which I was not aware of at the time. The dealer could have communicated this better to me when I brought it in. Not sure what they were going to attempt to diagnose with regard to the high beams, as they had already confirmed to me that the bulbs were bad. In any case, after a quick drive last night, these new bulbs are noticeably brighter than my old ones.
That's clear now, only one bulb for high and low. Brighter with new bulbs. Sounds like the dealer was trying to get you in a second time to increase the bill. Glad you didn't fall for it. This forum has saved many from unnecessary charges.
I have same problem. Just noticed that my headlights not working. The "Angel Eyes" or Nike Swoosh ARE working but the standard beams are not. I am taking to my mechanic (who I trust and is a Lexus owner himself) and will share my findings.
