BlueTooth Phone ERROR
Using BT phone dialing on my 2010 LS460L, the system will not choose the correct name from my phone's contact list. For example, if I say "Don", the system will try to dial another completely different name such as "Ted". Is this an error in the Lexus system or in my android phone?

Thanks, Dennis. APPRECIATE your honesty!
I've had the car one week tomorrow. It is the first Asian car I have ever owned. I have been driving MB, Jaguars, Bentleys and Rolls Royces for the past 40 years. I bought the Lexus because I heard they were so reliable, etc. In one week, I have had the "parking brake error"; several led lights out on the center console; and the BT commands not working correctly! I feel betrayed! The car is a one owner 2010 76,000 miles 100% dealer serviced from new! At this point, I am not impressed with Toyota quality!

I have never found the voice recognition option that good in my 2010 LS 460L. So it is either my voice or her ears either way it does not work well. Plus I have a IPhone 12.

Cape600L, thanks for that tip. I'm gonna try that. I've had name recognition issues for some names, although, most names that I say are recognized correctly.
benzjag - I'd think it's more of a phone voice-assistant issue than a car issue.

I bought my 2010 LS 460L back in June of 2014 after it came off lease with 19K on the clock. I now have 94K on the clock and other than spark plugs at 60K, oil changes, brakes and tires and 5 new TPMS's I have not spent a dime on the car. Lexus however did put a new dash and door panels in it last year free which makes the interior look new. Virtually no one is ever in the back so it is like new as well. I believe I upgraded the Navigation back in 2015 or 2016 when Lexus had a deal for $99. This car has been rock solid and is a dream to drive. Now that being said the only time I get to drive it is when it needs gas or washed unless we are on a road trip.

Dennis,
Your experience really gives me hope I have a similar positive experience if I should keep it. My neighbors cant believe I am driving an Asian car! Most of my previous German/British cars have been great except for the accessories that are a problem at times.
You mentioned your dash and door panels were replaced by the dealer. Was this a recall??????

Yes and no. It was not a recall in the since that every car was redone. Lexus had a good will program because some folks had experienced problems with the dash, glove box, side door panels. They became sticky. You took your car to the dealership and they took photos and sent them to Corp and then Corp made the decision based on the photos to replace or not to replace. Mine was done in 2 steps. First the front door panels and the glove box and lower dash. Then about a year later they replaced the dash itself.

I use the "dial by number" command and have better results compared to "dial by name" on my 2010 460. I believe it is a toyota bluetooth issue and not android. I also have a 2010 tundra which has the same bluetooth interface with the same results as the ls460.
