VIN check Services
How do all these youtube guys with car shows like Samcrac and Tavarish find the previous pictures of the cars they are buying, many times discovering massive damage now hidden and undisclosed to the current buyer? I saw a "too good to be true" 2014 LS460

With only a little over 10K miles for $38K seems like a either a typo or a salvage car but I don't trust the dealer to give me the straight story. I don't trust any dealer to give me a straight story, frankly, so I wonder how to find out what's the deal on my own.

In addition, in person inspection with a paint thickness meter is a must. Out 5 last Lexus cars, I checked, all had unreported damage and repairs even when sold by Lexus dealerships.

If you don't have a lexus driver account, sign up for it as it's free. With that you can load VIN numbers and see any service worked logged at a lexus dealership. Price doesn't seem too bad considering the low mileage on the vehicle.
If it was sold at auction there are many different sites that retain listing info for up to a year or so. This is one I used today. By vin you can find the auction site, date, price, and most important the listing pictures. Some will charge to see the final sale bid as well. As you can see between the 2 links the details are not identical but the pictures are. I just google the vin to find different sites.
