Default Lighted buttons won't light up

I'm the proud new owner of a 2010 LS460 L AWD, 24 hours in!

Tonight I noticed that some of the buttons around the infotainment center are lighted, but four of them are not, I have to turn the dome light on to see them.

This doesn't seem like an easy thing to repair, but my searches on this forum, YouTube and the internet in general haven't yet turned up anything. I think I'm using the wrong search terms.

Any guidance would be much appreciated!

Other than that, the only flaw on the car that I'm aware of is the pop-up headlight squirters, which have apparently been broken for quite awhile. Would be cool to fix if it's simple, but certainly not important.

Either replace the board with lights or replace failed LEDs. You will need some basic soldering skills to replaced failed LEDs.

OK, I’m willing to do that or engage a friend for help.

Where can I get detailed guidance to get to that board and what to do?

The hardest part is to take everything apart without breaking anything. I read, it takes time to get to the LEDs and it is not always easy. Please, check the link below, it should answer some of your questions.

There are groups like Tanin Auto Electronix that you can send the components to and they will replace the LEDs for you and send back. Just know that the new LEDs will not match exactly to the rest and will likely be brighter due to the OE age etc. I had Tanin replace the seat heater switch lights in my lower center console and I ended up wiring in a separate dimmer for those 2 switch lights so I can match them to OE brightness. They match perfectly now.
