Steve for 115,000 you expected a good sound system in a German car? glad you did the upgrade and your happy.

bought my sister a 3 series over weekend, for 46,000 no comfort access to open a door without the key fob.... love the germans

 

Yea man, I heard such bad things about the base Burmester from former LS owners who had the Mark Lev and I had to have the 3D. I'm too much of an audiophile while at an age that tearing out every speaker is no longer practical lol

I'm glad adding the subwoofer in the trunk helped. Those subwoofers in the front are a joke.
Germans will nickel and dime the options to death smh. Why premium audio isn't standard on 115k+ vehicles is crazy.

 

I would say the base Burmester is similar to the base LS audio, which also wasnt great. Which, I suppose makes sense but when you factor in how much more expensive the S Class is, and how brutally expensive the 3D upgrade is ($6.500) and how inexpensive the ML upgrade was ($1,500) I guess I expected the base Burmester to be similar to the ML and the 3D to be truly incredible. And, that was not the case LOL. At least I realized that and chose the car knowing that limitation.

In other markets the base Burmester isnt even the base audio, it itself is an upgrade.

I will ALWAYS get the upgraded audio on every car I get from here on out.
