Lug nut saga
I've put myself in the situation of having the key lug nuts on each wheel and no key to remove them. I'm able to get the locking lug nuts off by jamming a socket on them, but I'm having trouble understanding replacement lug nuts (for just the 4 locking ones). I ordered some OE ones from a seller on Ebay. They appear to be OE and fit correctly EXCEPT they require a 22mm socket. The Ebay listing does mention they're bigger (missed that detail at first), but it also mentions the part number is 90942-01111. This appears to be the right number. Are the old 21mm socket size lug nuts superseded by the 22mm version?
That would be the craziest way to keep track. Not saying you're wrong. But how could Lexus do that and leave you unable to change a tire with the provided tools in the trunk?
You should know, that Lexus owners don't change their tires. They got people for that. On a more serious note, I agree with you and I think it is very annoying that I need 2 wrenches to remove/install wheels.
I doubt Lexus changed the size. I would suspect the eBay seller used the same part number because that is what buyers would search for, and then just put in the disclaimer that they are a larger size.
That's kind of what I'm assuming at this point. The part of the description I missed also said they were "practically" new (not actually new) and from an LC500.
