What is this brap brap or loud purring soubd
So the only thing I’ve done is cut out the filters in the top of the air box. I’ve recently changed engine air filters, engine oil, transmission drain and fill and also I updated my suspension so a lot less noise.
Happy I did not notice the sound being so Loud before... could there be an issue ? I checked all the air hoses are tight and air box filter seal as well. My friend says it sound abnormal maybe an exhaust issue, you can hear the rumbling when I accelerate. I’ve tried to attach a video let me know guys

do our cars have egr valves ? I’m trying to understand what after egr valves entails so that’s the exhaust intake manifold side of things ?

ibe dove the reving thing but it’s hard to hear be because it only happens at initial acceleration whenever you give it gas... you hear it you let off totally coasting you give it gas again you hear it. It’s only on acceleration
I think its exhaust related as the noise isnt there just idling, thats just the feeling I get :O your right doesnt seem there is an EGR on it, I read about EGR pipes on older LS.
For fuel economy pretty sure the engine recirculates hot exhaust gas. When under load, it stops recirculating so exhaust leaks become audible. I might be wrong however
I found the gas recirculation might be done with the vvt-ie system, the leak could be anywhere from exhaust manifold to further down the pipe, if the sound is new, it could very well be a leak now big enough to notice it. it would also become worse over time... my exhaust leak (corolla) had similar symptoms and developed over 2 years till I noticed and got it fixed.

The only thing I hear at the 5 to 6 second zone just sounds like exhaust sound. It sounds like you either poke the throttle just a bit to make it do that, or possibly it's a shift flare? Dunno. Either way, it doesn't sound bad.
I can hear it. It starts at about 3 seconds in when you accelerate. It reminds me of the exhaust note in my GS300 when I had the silencers in. Sounds good actually, like a tuned but muffled exhaust. What does it sound like to a pedestrian?
doesnt sound bad it’s just suspicious because it seems to be doing it on its own
