I am asking if anyone has had their leather console cover replaced under the warranty program?

 

The console cover is leather (like the seats), so I don't know if they consider this part of the recall.

 

They told me no when I had the recall done as well. It's not made of that synthetic material that the recalled parts are made of.

 

The center arm rest sides are made of the same synthetic material. I changing it the LS 600 full leather arm center arm rest.

 

Service advisor said today to me that a few years ago the warranty did replace the sliding console cover. Not since. Mine is worn. Sure appears to be leather. I bought a new oem replacement a while ago. 2008 production dated. Will replace it when I replace both lower leather seat covers and the drivers side foam coming up. Replaced the steering wheel today. Found an unworn eBay one for $105 a while ago. Dealer installed it today and realigned the front end as exactly putting a different wheel on the same exact fine splines is hard to do. Had to transfer some of the buttons over.

will refinish the removed one in the future as another long term spare.

anyone know someone who can replace and relace the leather parts to look like oem versus paint it?

 

I ended up buying one off ebay as well. Got the whole sliding assembly. I tried the cover only first but the material wasn't a good match and it was more of a chore to put on the new cover than just replacing the cover. If you do it I found it easier to remove the three screws under the cover where it slides rather than removing the rear air vent.

 

It's a console box assembly so the leather console cover is included.
I have leather trimmed interior as part of the luxury and convenience package.
