Default C1377 Solved "Check Brake System"

Wanted to share a recent success on my 2008 LS460L. Returning from a trip I got the dreaded message on the dashboard stating "Check Brake System - Have your vehicle checked by a dealer". After doing some research and even asking a Lexus technician, they all led me to believe the car needed a brake actuator - you know the $1500 part. I purchased a code scanner capable of reading ABS codes and retrieved codes C1377 and C1241. C1377 is ABS capacitor malfunction and C1241 is ABS Low or High Power Supply Voltage. After more research I learned that there is a separate power supply for the ABS system in the trunk - and it is full of capacitors. Part number 89680-33010. I found a used power supply (shared with other Toyota cars) on eBay for $20 delivered. I replaced the power supply unit in the trunk (left side under the carpet and floor panel). Problem solved - no more "Check Brake System" or ABS lights. I wanted to share my success. Surely there are others out there with this same problem. I was surprised that I couldn't find anyone out there that had posted about the same problem. I hope this helps!

Default Thanks for the tip!

Sadly for me I’ve been dealing with this issue for a while now and since I’m not mechanically inclined I’ve done this work at a shop which means big bucks and after replacing modules and brake actuator I’m still having the same issue. I just got a call from my guy saying he’s replacing the capacitor and I’m hoping that solves my problem. I was about to sell the car to avoid any further expenses but I will give it one more chance and hopefully I won’t deal with that anymore!
