Default Fun hot detail day.

So had my front bumper repainted for the 3rd time and this time I had a clear bra installed (fool me 3 times). But when it was at the painters dirt and rain had impregnated the car with hard water marks. I tries many things 7 actually and only thing that somewhat worked is Wheel Acid 1 to 1 ratio and finishing off with Butter Wax. Again there is still some water spots but after 3h in 105 degree temperatures I am done for time being. Its not perfect but I am happy for now. Not to self never buy a black car.

Looks great from few feet away.

That’s pretty courageous, detailing in that kind of heat. Looks like we are twinsies. 😃

Here is mine after a detail. It was one of those mobile detailers. A bit pricey but I was really happy with the results.

I actually had someone do a full detail few days ago, about $240 but he couldnt get the water marks off. So I had to do it my self if you want it dont correctly. When he did it the car was clean inside and looked good in a garage, but in the sun it was horrible. I searched a year for this model but I had no luck. Only 1 in Sport showed up locally in Phoenix. And happend to be the only color I didnt want. But I still love it. I just wished it was white or silver.

What do they get in your area to respray a bumper? Looks great. After 97,000 miles I would like mine done.

Sport models our year is pretty rare. Looks like you got a datasystem setup to it, nice.

For that amount (which is about what I paid) you should have made them do it over and over until they get it right. But I get it, sometimes you got to do it yourself to get it done right.

I had a guy who did it the 1st time for $300 but he did it as a favor because he painted it the 1st time. The rocks chips destroyed it after a year. 2nd guy was $350 from Facebook and lets just say thats the last time I use facebook. Most shops charge around $500 in Phoenix.

That looks like some serious work! I've always struggled with hard water deposits. I did find a miracle product for cleaning glass, but I wouldn't risk it on paint: "Driven Extreme Duty Glass Cleaner". Rubber gloves a must.

not horrible just mix wheel acid 1 to 1 with water. Spray on microfiber cloth and wipe, wear gloves, and mask. After 30sec i grab another clean cloth and spray quick detailer or spray wash to wash it off. And repeat if needed. After I just used a buffer and applied wax.

I must have mistaken. Since your car has air suspension you can get a device that tricks your car to raise and lower at your command. I got it as many others do with air suspension. Pretty cool gadget. Look it up on CL there are a number of posts about it.

to avoid water marks make sure to apply a quality sealant/wax after detailing. It aint normal the car looked good in a garage and bad in the sun... didnt they wax / polish the car?

Try Fusso Coat (soft99), its pricey but lasts a very long time they have a lot of variants but they seem all very good. I got lucky and got my 1st can for like 10$ usd... its more like 20-30 a can now.
