Rear Sunshade Auto Down in Reverse
I've got a rear facing dash cam that barely interferes with the rear sunshade when it's in motion and I'm noticing it's more of an issue now that I keep the sunshade up. I do not like that the sunshade retracts automatically when the car is put in reverse. I searched the forum and searched through the vehicle settings and it doesn't appear that can be changed. Does anyone have information to the contrary?
Much appreciated in advance.

The CARISTA app requires a Carista OBD 2 dongle. With it, you can change some of your personalized driver settings. Go to drivers.lexus.com, enter your car info including VIN number. Lots of info about your specific car including personalized settings that you can do on your own and others that require dealer or Carista to change. Personally I have the Carista device as I'm a Lexus for life person and have used it on several Lexus vehicles.
The dealer won't do it because it can be a safety/liability issue. An independent mechanic MAY do it or you have to get the Carista App to do it yourself. The Carista Ap is a program you can purchase and allows you to access settings only the dealership can.

Trending Topics
as I posted earlier, go to drivers.lexus.com, it's a long list that changes with model year. windows, door locks, lighting, seat positioning and much more. Also the Carista app gives you the list once connected to car via blue tooth. Plus drivers.lexus.com has a lot of other info and helpful videos for your specific car. it's FREE to sign up.You'll want to thank me once you do!!!
Anyway, I happened to take these screenshots before, so here goes:

You can also make the changes with Techstream software. and a Mini VCI firmware version 2.0.4 OBDII cable. Which is what I use on my 2006 Lexus SC 430 which is not supported by the Carista App. Also I don't believe you need a Carista OBDII interface. I believe any ELM 327 WI-FI OBDII interface will work.

The 2.x cable is probably the better option in every case, but beware; apparently some who claim to sell them will send a 1.4.x instead.
EDIT: Got fed up and bought this cable, TPMS sensors are now registered and all is well...

Some of the folks on the SC 430 Forum have had good luck with the V1.4.1 cable and some have not. Folks should avoid getting Techstream V13+ as it has some real issues. If folks are interested in getting Techstream go over to the SC 430 forum and do a search for "Techstream and cable problems and there is a link where you can download a Version 12 that will be easy to install and works great.
