Sorry to see that. My GS430 got rear ended by a lady doing about 30-40mph who never braked and it did not look anywhere near that bad and was totaled which really disappointed me. Glad you are okay, that looks to be at least 15K in damage and likely frame damage.

It is a total loss as the repair cost will FAR exceed its repaired value. Be sure to also get sales tax when you settle with the party responsible or insurance company.

car is beyond repair,
how did you do with the accident, seems like it was a strong impact.

Can it be repaired? Sure! Will it be repaired? Most likely.... Is it totaled as far as you’re concerned? Yup! Some body shop will pick it up at Copart or other salvage auction and most likely slap an entire rear end on it. Good as new 😁.

not good as new
significant issues and will never be the same, the car looks like it was hit at 50 mph plus

Were you in the car when it was hit? If so, I hope you immediately went to the hospital. Even if you "think" you're ok, an impact like that can leave lasting injury.
The car is without a doubt a total loss.

That's horrible! So sorry! Like others have said; it can be fixed, but not for less than the value of the car; so it's totaled. Get the most you can out of the settlement and start searching for another one.
It's amazing what they can do though; my 2001 Acura TL looked a lot like that after getting rear-ended and after the body shop was done it looked and drove like a new car. Heck I drove it for 15 more years!
