My 07 Tires Experience

Bought my LS one year ago and immediately took it to Discount Tires and at their recommendation they installed four new Pirelli tires.
So now one year and only 10,000 miles later yesterday I went back to Discount and showed them how the tires are now almost at the wear marks.
Told them how disappointed I am with these 40,000 mile warranty tires and they said well they are "sport" Pirelli tires with softer rubber.
I was not told at time of purchase I was buying such poor wear tires. So they said they would give me $600 credit and I would pay only
$400 for a new set of Pirelli "touring" tires with a 75,000 mile warranty. I took the deal and the new tires feel fantastic.
Have any of you run into this with your tire choices, is it just Pirelli tires, anyone have good to say about their Touring tires I have now put on?

Yep, gotta do your research.

I "fired" Pirelli when I had an entire set of 4 SUV tires bulge on both inside/outside & neither Tire Rack nor Pirelli would do squat to resolve or diagnose this issue.

I had the bulging issue with couple sets of Pirellis as well. No more Pirellis for me!

I'm sorry to hear the first set of tires did not work out as expected, but I'm glad you're pleased with the new set so far.

Thank you for your support!

From the picture it looks like this may be undulation (where the carcass seems meet) and it will be present on both sides of the tire. This is actually fairly common with radial constructed tires that have a decent amount of sidewall height.

If there's ever a question whether the tire is separated or if undulation is present, it's best to remove the tire from the wheel and inspect it from the inside.

Does Discount ever do a special on buying 5 tires? 5th free would be nice.

Hi, johnnyg

In my tenure here with Discount Tire I haven't seen a buy four get the 5th FREE type of promotion but we do run exclusive promotions a few times per year where the savings is high as 15%. I'll add that the elusive promotions we run can be combined with applicable manufacturer rebates for even greater savings!
