Default Leak on a 2010 LS460L

Hey all

Just wanted your input on this.

So I bought my LS for about $13k and it had ran about 94k miles.
I found out from 3 different mechanics at that time it had a leak.
Upon further diagnostics the leak seems to be coming from the engine oil/filter side/outlet.
I have noticed that car only leaks when engine is off and not during running. Its a mild leak.

So do I need to fork out about $450 for parts and labor. Or just watchful waiting for more leaks. Parts are not that expensive since its mostly O seals and gasket.

I have attached pictures of leak.

Fyi: This is my 1st lexus. Coming from a 05 Camry.

Appreciate everyone's advise.

5-40 motor oil? Is that what Lexus says to use on your 2010?

I don't know as I have a 07 which calls for 0-20 full synthetic, why would Lexus change
to a heavier oil in the 2010 model year, just curious?

The manual says 0w20, 5w20, 5w30 or 10w30.
Thing is I live in Dubai so the coolest it gets is about 15 C. Hottest is like 45-55 C.
Also lexus dealer sells 5w40 as the OEM here.

He does live in the desert, where it's going to be hotter, so maybe that's a Lexus dealer recommendation.
-------------------

ok thank you for that as I too live in a United States desert hot area and my dealer tells me to use no heavier than 5-20

I know these car motors are built to very tight clearance hence the need for thinner oil, but yes maybe extremely hot climate calls for even heavier oil, thank you

and best wishes with deciding to buy a Lexus!

Yes u are right but here we never need a coldstart. Im sure ur winter gets more colder so 5w20 is balanced for that.
Here winter is like 15 degree Celsius lols.

Guys what about the leak. Any inputs.
Seems to be leak higher up. Thus changing all O rings and gasket as well as gear filter.
