Activating DRL system

Hi All,

I am a new member here.
Could you please help me with the following?
I have a LS600hL from 2008, european version, because i am living in the EU.
It is possible to activate the DRL system on the european version?
In the manual it says that only in the USA.

I have tried with techstream but this option is missing from customization.
Thank you.

Maybe not because of this item.......Since 2011, DLRs are mandatory for all new cars and small delivery vans in the EU. Trucks and buses followed in August 2012. Vehicles produced before don't have to be retrofitted.

It is true but if it can works on US models somehow it is possible to activate on EU models.
I think it is only hidden in the software.
Maybe somebody knows the answer.

if you don’t see it on techstream I don’t see how but if you really want to try... get a elm Bluetooth device and the carista app

its not supposed to be but if techstream doesn’t work then what choice do you have and who knows why you don’t see that option it’s pitated nonsense so you know ....

you can try carista for a trial period but remember to cancel etc check what they say when you try and sign up

I just tried it, it is the same like techstream.
I did not know this app before, quite nice.
Maybe i need to change the light control module to US one?
Can somebody connect to the car and see it is available in US?

Yes, my Techstream shows daytime running light on/off toggle option. In fact, I used my Techstream to turn off the auto daytime running light, auto steering wheel retraction, and several other automatic features. I wanted to control my car, not to be controlled by my car. In Southern California, it seldom rains and I feel that there is no need to keep daytime running light on automatically and all the time.
P.S., Techstream is the best diagnostic and configuration tool for Lexus/Toyota vehicles. No other tool works better for maintaining and repairing Lexus/Toyota cars.

No DRL on European 2008 models..so this is the only solution.

Your dealer will activate this (if available) at no cost, at least mine disabled it for free....

How are the DRLs on US-spec LS600h? Is it just running the LED headlights on a dimmer setting, or are there some additional LEDs for DRL functionality?
