Default Can you identify this dash thingy?

I picked up a 2007 LS 460 with 100K a few weeks ago and I'm still learning my way around the vehicle. Of course I love this forum!
Can you guys take a look at this pic and tell me what I'm pointing my light at?

That's a coin holder. Or, whatever you want to hide in there.

Default Left side little dash compartment

Thanks guys, you are exactly right! I found two quarters and a spare cigarette lighter! Note that the engine has to be running for the compartment to open. Accessory power doesn't work, at least on my vehicle.

Almost certainly it's a blown fuse.

Oh, and congrats on the car and welcome to Club Lexus!

Thanks for asking! This particular 2007 LS 460 doesn't need much. The trans fluid was changed at 75,000 and the control arms were done under warranty a while back. The Mark Levinson amp was replaced under warranty. The only known defect in this car is that the driver's side mirror doesn't retract any more. I'm not going to worry about it. I bought it with 99,800 on the odo for 12,000 USD. I still have my 2006 Toyota Sienna with 190K which has had no major problems and will be my daily driver for around town activities. The LS will be mostly a trip car if all goes as planned.

One of the great things I discovered when I bought this car is a mobile inspector here in the Portland Oregon area. www.pdxinspections.com They go to the vehicle and perform an amazingly thorough inspection for about $200. They also provide a copy of the vehicle service record that is more complete than what I got from the free Carfax service.

WOW. Thanks for posting the link to PDX Inspections. Those guys seem to really have it figured out. I've bought several cars long distance and finding the right outfit for the PPI has always been difficult and left me wondering if I made the right choice. Hopefully they'll expand to more cities, At the very least, I'll use their inspection detail as expectations for my next PPI guys. Our local Lexus dealer tells me they won't even do a PPI. Not sure if it's a liability issue or something else.

That doesn't make sense. The compartment is not electronic, its just a spring activated sliding compartment...

Correct, no need for the power to be on to open the draw.
