LS460 Values Nosediving
A new generation model typical does that to last gen models, it takes a few months though. I don't see the LS500 selling anywhere near as well as the LS460 sold so values may stabilize a bit too after the nosedive. It is good news for people looking for a LS, not so good if you are looking to selling, I just say keep it longer, there aren't many sedans out there that offers the LS's size, power, luxury, reliability, 8 cylinder so it is not like there is a big choice of sedans out there to upgrade to. At least it is not depreciating in AMG/Bentley/Aston Martin/Masserati levels.
Do some research - it's not like that at all, but that's why guys like you will never venture outta yer comfort zone.

i was offered 9500 back in august when i was considering trading in the car. At the time it had 120k and some dings and dents. They made it sound good considering the 9500 would be more since it would lower the taxable amount or something like that. When i got the car the interior was immaculate and its sad to say i have let some of it go ( driver seat, lower door pillars, and center console). No rips or anything but just wear and tear. Still looks good considering. I go back and forth of whether to keep the car or not but in the end i'll probably keep it. It'll probably need the control arms changed but if i do it myself with the help of a friend i should be good and the car will be ready for another 100k miles or so.
trust me I know, I’m not going into how I know on a public forum but I can tell you I grew up around a lot of German luxury and English cars.
This is my first post. I have wanted an LS460 for several years. Lurking around this forum has been very interesting and informative.
I do believe that the SUV craze is contributing to poor car sales in general, and from looking around on the internet, it does seem that LS values are falling along with all the rest. The question is when to jump, how far will they fall? Anyone have an opinion? The post showing recent auction prices in the 20's for fairly young cars was very enlightening.
I'm interested in a 2014-2016 LS. I've read many posts on here about the problems on the earlier first gen such as control arms/bushings, brakes, air suspension, and sticky arm rests. I'm hoping that the second gen fixed most of these. Can anyone confirm or deny how much more reliable the 2nd gen is, and also, do all LS's eat tires every 25,000 miles (or less haha)?
Thanks much
