Are you referring to the headlights not extinguishing automatically after the ignition is turned off?

The manual outlines the procedure for setting the length of time before the head lights go off after turning the ignition off, you can set it to go off pretty much right away if you want.

This happens sometimes on my 400. Never could figure out the reason so I just turn them off and then put them back on auto which solves the problem.

The feature that extinguishes the headlights, if they are on when the ignition is turned off, is autonomous and always enabled - it's not something that you can enable or disable. If you are having trouble with the headlights remaining on after the ignition is turned off, that is likely related to a defective doorjamb switch on the driver's door. We have discussed this extensively in this forum. You should be able to find lots of help here.
