RX 350L loaner is very disappointing

'16 and '18 are the same car. I've had an 18 RX-L loaner on 20s and didn't find it loud or poor riding at all. Not as soft or quiet as the LS sure.

I wonder if they had the tire pressures set too high? That, along with 20" rims, would probably give a crappy ride. My wife has an Acura RDX right now, but we'll probably pass that on to our daughter in a few years and replace it with an RX. We don't need an RX L, but the '16+ RX seems to get good reviews.

Wow, judging by those pictures why did they even bother, that is worse then 2nd gen IS rear seat room and more like SC coupe 2+2, makes the MDX's 7 row seem limo like in comparison.
I had a 5 seat RX loaner and some things I liked like the bamboo trim and heat/cooled seat controls closer to the driver but there was obvious cost cutting once you started feeling around like hard flimsy plastic on doors and other areas, the engine was not that smooth either and the rear trunk area was surprisingly small, my trunk in my GS was deeper and looked larger, only way I could fit more stuff in the RX is if I stack up blocking visibility or not have any rear seat passengers and fold the seats down.

Lexus really needs a 3 row crossover to compete with the MDX, Infiniti QX60, Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, the list goes on and on. The GX can't do that because its a body on frame truck, doesn't have the interior volume and doesnt ride and drive the way those vehicles do.
The RX-L is just a hilariously bad implementation.

Several dealers have told me the #1 product they have wanted for years is a 3 row crossover. Everybody agrees this is a flop though.

I had a similar experience when I was on a trip to the Midwest and rented a Mitsubishi Outlander which had a 3rd row seat. I was kind of excited because there were six of us with the oldest being in his 90's and the youngest mid-20's. When I raised the 3rd row and saw there was no leg room, I just dropped them back down so at least the rear seat passengers could be comfortable. Thought to myself, why did they even bother to put in a 3rd row? Must be to keep the grocery bags from moving around

The L is a fail and Lexus knows it. Disappointing they would release a product like that to the market.
Reminds me me of the backseat on the SC430. It’s just for looks and throwing down your golf clubs.

I think they had to find some way to differentiate it from the 2 row RX. How else would you do that except to use "L"?

Its not about that, consumers and dealers were really begging for a 3 row crossover because Lexus didnt have anything in that segment, and they were losing buyers. Unfortunately...this isn't what they wanted. Lexus took the cheap way out and just crammed a third row into the RX without lengthening the wheelbase.

We had a '13 RX that we really enjoyed. When the lease was up, we wanted a 3 row crossover but the new RX still didn't offer that extra row, so we went with the Highlander. We did a 3 year lease on the Highlander, knowing a 3 row RX would be coming, so we figured we'd swap out the Highlander for 3 row RX at the end of the lease.
Well, the Highlander lease is set to end this summer and I don't view the RX-L as a vehicle that will work for us, so we are buyingt out the Highlander and will keep it, as we've been very happy with it.

I have a brand new lx570 the kids still want to use the "tiny car"(as my 7 year old calls it) aka ls460 anytime when we go out; its my 3rd car now but still get used here and there. the Rx are very noisy from inside I think the highlander is a better buy, more space attest. The 3rd row in the RX-L is a joke. I had the loaner rx for couple of week when they the lx was in the shop. the loaner sat in the drive way meanwhile we used the ls460
