Default LS 460 F-Sport vs LS 460 LWB , which one is better

In the market for a 2013 + LS 460
Thinking between a LS 460 F-Sport or a LS 460 LWB , which one is better value?

Which do you prefer? I've never had an F Sport but it doesn't appeal to me. I have had a SWB LS460 and a LWB LS460 and I much prefer the LWB.

I wish I could have found an L. It is rare here.

Personally, Sport is not an important factor to a big sedan like this. So the f sport package did not appeal to me.

I went with the L over the F sport due to the rear seating space and really did not like how "grabby" the Brembo brakes were at low speed. Also the fact that the F sport has no wood trim turns me off. If I am driving a flagship luxury car it should have luxury feel.

Mmmm, I thought one can get the F-sport with wood trim on the dash. Check out the 2010 F-sport pics in post #23 of the thread below. I love that bamboo/matte wood finish on the dash.

The pre-'13 models had an optional Sport package, but they are not the same as the F-Sport that you see from 2013 onward. The F-Sports didn't come with wood trim.

The bamboo is my favorite interior trim too. If I ever upgrade to a 460L I'm going to look for that.

In order to get an F Sport 13+ with wood trim you need to get a crafted line, or a midnight edition.

I have an F Sport and love it but when I see the LWB I always like how stately they look.

I'm now slightly more tilted towards the LWB. I also own a e46 m3, so can have best of both worlds !!

Find a Ls600L with tan seats and bamboo trim. It almost has a Bentley feel to it.

My $0.02 worth, let me know if you need change back!
  • How much "SPORT" does one get with the Sport?
    • It's a friggin land barge either way for Pete's sake (which is a compliment in my opinion).
    • The amount of "SPORT" received in my opinion seems rather small.
    • And, the usefulness of that amount of "SPORT" on the street is probably even smaller.
Contrarily
  • How much LENGTH or LUXURIOUSNESS does one get with the L?
    • Every single time someone rides in the back of my LS, I hear the following,
    • Oh, there's so much space back here. This is nice!
    • And the extra length actually in and of itself makes the car look long and low. The profile is much more commanding with an L (IMHO).
Don't get me wrong. I like the Sport. But Sport versus L, IMHO, the L wins HANDS DOWN. Would be cool to have a L SPORT.

Everyone who gets in my short version back seat thinks its huge. Also the sport in a LS460 is to me nothing more than squeaky brakes. I'm not a fan of either. And don't get me started on air suspension. AWD only if absolutely necessary.

Having had the SWB and the LWB, I'd pick the LWB every time. I liked my SWB car, but I LOVE my LWB car.
