Man does it feel great when you drive your V8 LS460 after returning home from a trip with a rental car. Who else feels the same way?

I ALWAYS get that sensation! When all you drive is the LS, you kind of forget how amazingly silent and smooth the car is. When I jump in a rental car, even a fairly nice one, I always am struck by how noisy the engine is, how crappy the interior feels, etc. It's good to drive other cars once in a while to regain an appreciation of just how good the LS is!

Totally agree. I rent very frequently and getting back in the LS never gets old.

I have a 2000 Cummins Ram with a 6 speed. It's so rough, it's like a tractor that can go fast (and I love it). And I have a 2004 Corolla 5 speed with 235k miles. I get the same feeling almost every time I get in my LS. Because I don't drive the LS every day. It is quite a vehicle.

Oh yeah, its amazing. I love coming back after a long trip of driving even our Pacifica which is a very nice vehicle and getting back in the LS.

Totally agree! Even if I spend a couple of days driving another luxury car (recently drove a 2015 740i for a bit), still happy to get back to my LS460.

The car I drove in Florida for a week was a pretty loaded Altima. It was more than adequate with very comfortable leather seats. At low altitude with no hills at all the 4 cyl was more than enough power. The front wheel drive torque steer wasn't fun though. There's nothing like a rear wheel drive V8 though.

Just had a conversation about this the other day to a co-worker. I had a recent trip with a 2017 Silverado and before that a 2018 expedition fully loaded.

I compared them to my 04 LX470 and even though it's 14yrs older than the others, it's so much nicer of a ride even with my BFG KO2s on the LX.

Since I haven't driven any cars recently other than my 14 LS460, I didn't really compare any of those to it but you can easily tell the difference in leather used within Lexus versus these other vehicles I've driven recently.

I have been without my 13 LS 460 for four days while it was in the shop. I had my Dad's 06 LS 430 during that time and as nice as that car is, I sure missed my 460. I used to think the 430 rode extremely well on 18s and now I am certain the 460 rides even better despite having 19-inch tires. Both cars are shod with Pirelli P7 Plus. Our LS 460 does have the air suspension though while the 430 does not. Can't wait to go to work in the morning just so I can drive the 460 more. Automotive bliss.

I just did a 550 mile round trip in my 460 yesterday - the exact same route I do very frequently in a rental car. What a great experience in the LS. Effortlessly floating down the highway at 80mph while blasting my favorite tunes on the Levinson stereo. There was a small stretch where I was going 60mph on a freshly paved back-road highway and I turned off the radio to take a call - I couldn't believe how silent the car was at that speed. Having exclusively driven an LS for the last 11 years of my life, it just never gets old.
