Anyone buy or make a custom side mounted fiberglass sub enclosure.
 

I wanted to see if anyone has one for their LS 460. I have seen them available for purchase for the other Lexus models but nothing for the LS460. I was looking to add one quality 10 inch sub in a sealed enclosure to my ML set up. Before I attempted to make anything resembling an enclosure (which I have never done before) I wanted to see if anyone who knew of a fabricator who already has this process down so I can buy one.

I've done it once and it's a tremendous amount of work. I would go to a high-end car audio place and have them do it.

You basically cover a corner of your trunk with masking tape and coat it with a couple layers of resin and glass. You pop that out and you have the back side of a custom mold. From there you can use wood, speakers rings, t-shirt material, etc. to make the rest of the shape. With t-shirt you stretch it over the ring and put one light coat of resin on it to get the shape. You can see examples of the process on the 'net. It looks easy, but I would never attempt it again. Like anything, the pros can do it better and faster.

I have watched so many videos by now. My post was hoping someone would say, "Oh yeah my cousin makes them. Contact him."
