Default Transmission shudder 2007 LS 460

My 2007 Lexus has 250,000 miles and the transmission started very mild shudder around 20/25 mph, maybe 4th gear. Transmission is very strong and run very well. At a stoplight the other day the car had no response in drive so I switch to SD, (sport drive)and the car/transmission worked perfect, but now it is stuck in SD when it is in the D position and if I move to the left the number four,(4) appears. After searching the web it seems “shudder” is a problem with
no great solution. I suspect a torque converter but that exhaust everything I know about transmissions; any suggestions?
thanks,
JLS

Did you change your transmission Fluid anytime? When was the last transmission oil change you did?

I've never had shudder but have used Lubegard products with no issues as preventative maintenance. Their Transmission flush and ATF Platinum additive. I'd look into a transmission fluid exchange via cooler line along with a transmission filter replacement or at the very least a drain and fill with filter replacement.

Not sure, the car has been serviced at the dealer every 5000 miles, I am second owner with all the paperwork; at the 100,000 miles all fluids were check and reported OK not sure the oil was drained or flushed. I am convinced it is an electrical problem.
Thanks for your interest.

Very curious if the transmission fluid change fixed your issue. I am having a similar problem with the car shuddering somewhere between 40-50 mph, and more specifically when it is doing these speeds at between 1000 - 1300 RPM, and am trying to see what worked for others. I have an LS 460 with 150k miles. No check engine lights or anything like that on. Please let me know if you were able to resolve, and if so, how.

Thank you.

EDIT:

Transmission fluid drain and fill worked for me. I basically used this guide, eventhough she does not have the same vehicle, the procedure was the same.

The Toyota brand WS AT fluid, the pump, and even the Toyota Software & ODB cable she uses in this video were all available on Amazon. Spent less than $300 for all of it. I did 12 quarts of drain and fills, following the instructions in the video where I drained it into a pitcher, and then filled another pitcher to the same level with new fluid and pumped it back in. I initially posted on here that it did not work, because at first the issue was still there. It took me driving it about 50 miles before the shuttering went away completely. But it did completely go away, so I want to stress this 100% worked for me and now my transmission is running smoothly. I have probably put about 300 miles on the car since I did the service and after the first 50 I have not heard that noise at all anymore or had any issues thus far. If you guys dont hear from me again that means all went well, but if I have more to share I will def come back and post. Thank you.

Thanks for this thread, the vibration was driving me crazy, I got a tranny fluid change at the dealer and it immediately solved the problem!

Great news. What is the mileage on your car? It's helpful to others to know, for reference.

of course, it's a 2007 with 113k miles. It was shuddering about every 10 sec that I was cruising between 25 and 45 mph. It still hasn't shuddered once since.
