Dear all ,i currently own a 2007 LS 460 L that has clocked 120000 miles. I have bought this from an another owner

At the time of purchase the car has clocked 117000 miles and i made a oil change for my satisfaction in order to ensure smooth service intervals after my purchase onwards..even though the other owner insisted not to change ..changing the oil is only required when the error message pops up.

he actually changed the oil at 114000 miles.
after i purchased the car ..i again changed at 117000 miles.(without waiting for any error message)
but now at 120000 miles...am getting the error now OIL MAINTENANCE IS REQUIRED. Should i change the oil now and should i just reset the message? Need your suggestions.Thank you

 

just reset it, unless you want to change oil every 3000 miles.

 

thank you for your reply..But how does this error message operate? Doea it pop up every 6000 miles after reset or is there any sensor that identifies the level of the oil in the engine?

 

Yes the maintenance light pops up every 5000 miles.
