Default Are 07 worth it, or too many problems?

In my search for a car, I had found a couple 2010 with <100K that were sold before I arrived. There is a mint looking 2007 in the ugly color that I might be able to get for <$11K. With less than 120K miles, do you guys think it is worth the risk or should I just spend the 5K more on a 2010 with less than 100K?

All the mileage you are mentioning are not exactly low miles.. so is price a bigger concern? I only buy cars that have exceptionally low mileage that is where you avoid issues. Also you need to look at service history, if all the issues that have been constantly mentioned here have been addressed then it is an ok buy but if a 07 has never had control arms and suspension components changed out then you are in for a hit in the pocket down the road.. but these are wear items anyways.. you HAVE to change them every so often they do not last forever.

I think you're going to find the control arm issues in either car, but my rule of thumb would be to go with the newer car. It's not that the 07 is bad, it's just that a car that is three years newer has less age on it. I'm not sure, but I also think you'll avoid the brake actuator issues with the 2010, or it still may be covered under the factory extended warranty, because if not that will cost you 3 to 4 thousand.

I had an 07 and took mileage from 38k to 180k. Most outstanding car I ever owned. Recently traded in for a 2013 but could have taken the 07 100k more miles. I think with the LS 460’s, it just depends on the price point you want to buy in at and the condition of the car. An 07 is not too old, nor is 100k too many miles.

If you think the color is ugly wait for something that appeals to you these cars are getting cheap. If I didn't like the color I wouldn't pay anything for it.

No it's a factory extended warranty program and the 07's have fallen out if that warranty. Not sure about the 2010's. Pretty sure the 08's are out of the warranty come December...if not already.

I agree, took my 07 from 70,000 through 177,000 miles. Best car I ever owned.

Drove the car and it was in very good condition. Unfortunately the front window noise problem was pretty bad and I didn't enjoy the car as much as I would like. I ended up skipping on it and buying something entirely different.

I just had the brake actuator replaced in my 2014. I don't think they've made many sigificant changes to the cars mechanicals throughout its lifecycle that would influence reliability. All the issues in the 2007 are potential issues in later cars. Having said that, I would buy the absolute latest, low mileage, car you can find in your budget.
