Default help detailing exhaust tips

Ok, recently picked up my LS460 and I am looking for tips to help clean up the exhaust tips. Mine are covered in black soot from years of use. Has anyone had any luck using a product or cheap procedure to clean them up?

thanks for any insight!

Use Mothers Metal Polish and it will clean up nicely. I used q-tips to get the top portion under the rear skirt.

I always have liked Eagle One's NevrDull wadding polish. I like that you don't have to dirty towels, etc

+1 on this. Works like a charm (also works on headlights too if done right).

I usually stay away from any abrasive cleaning unless it's the compound's (and metal therein) hardness is lower than that of the metal it'll be used again. Other than that, find something that can dissolve carbon deposits but care to not let hit your plastics.

I use BBQ grill cleaner to get all the soot and black off. Then metal polish.

Man, I've been so busy with honey do's, I haven't had a chance to work on them. I'll keep you posted though.
