Advice on 2013 LS 600h F-sport
I am getting ready to buy a 2013 LS 600h F-sport with 140.000km (about 90k miles). I owned a 2008 LS 600hL a while ago and was super happy. Now I have a 2010 RX with almost 300k on the meter (runs like a dream), but would like to go back to LS.
Does anyone have any experience with the F-Sport with 140k on the meter? What should I check, what would be the caveats? Any hints or comments would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

I'll caveat this with I dont know the LS600h very well, however I would be very cautious about ANY hybrid vehicle with that kind of high mileage. I'd do some serious research on the longevity of the batteries and electric motors. Those are crazy expensive to replace and usually have a much shorter lifetime than the internal combustion engine side.

There isn't necessarily anything specific on the 600 F-Sport to look out for, but with any car at 140k you'll want to check the car on a lift. Ball joints, shocks, bushings, exhaust hangers, boots; basically anything rubber or a normal wear item would need to be checked. Now many of these items will also wear over time regardless of mileage due to rubber getting harder and more brittle. Time is on your side in this case with the vehcile only being 5 years old. Give it a quick check as you would any used car. Now what Shad says above about the batteries^^......hat would scare me a lot more on this car.

I don't believe there is such a thing as a 600h f sport. There is a long and short wheelbase version but the short wheelbase was Europe / Asia only. US just received the long wheelbase. Personally, I would skip the 600h without a warranty on at least the powertrain. Not worth the risk IMO.

Yes, I'm sure. Here's a link to the 2013 Lexus LS models brochure: http://www.lexus.com/documents/broch...S-Brochure.pdf

However to be fair, it looks like the F-sport was only offered in non-North America markets.

The OP is in Slovenia, they did make a 600h (SWB) F Sport overseas.

Maybe in the US, but in EU and Asia, the LS 600h came with a sport trim (has nothing to do with performance).

There's a 10-year warranty on the Hybrid Drive (not just the battery) for all Toyota/Lexus vehicles. Beyond 10 years you have an option to perform a battery test to extend the warranty for one year. So you simply do the battery test each year and you have the fill warranty.
HYBRID VEHICLE SYSTEM
Hybrid System Warranty coverage is for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first, and covers the following components: hybrid control module, hybrid battery control module, hybrid battery and inverter with converter. See your Lexus dealer for complete details on the Lexus Powertrain Warranty.

Correct, that only applies to overseas vehicles.
