Sticky Door Panels - 2008 LS460
I know there are many with this issue- any resolve?
I live in Houston, Tx and have had this issue for quite a while now. I have asked my dealership about replacing this and hope to hear back - although it has been months since I inquired. BUT Harvey happened so...I have been little occupied!

Lexus is doing a good will repair for me. Mine is a 2011. Drivers and passenger front are not only sticky but also now cracking. Rears are just sticky. I have been on a wait list since last march. Just got a call to do the dash, still nothing on the panels. They say it could be up to two years!!

We had a 2008 LS460 with sticky door panels, dash and glovebox. Called Lexus Corporate and sent them pictures. They replaced all in about 3 months and I think we paid something like $200 for it all. I suggest if your local dealer does not seem helpful call Lexus Corporate and see if they can speed up the process for you.

I've been on the door panel list for almost a year.. no news..
I even called Lexus to let them know that I can source out the panels from out of state dealers right away.. that idea didn't fly with them..
I am not getting the process of part availability.. in stock nationwide, yet local dealers are not willing to source it out..
dumbfounded.. car still looks like crap..

Update. I took my car in on Wednesday after they called me and said my dashboard was in and ready to be installed but that they did not have the door panels. I picked the car up on Friday and not only did they do the dash but they did all 4 door panels as well. I'm a happy camper! Hope you guys get yours soon as well. They need to produce these panels faster! Car has a new smell now with all this new material in the cabin.

I have this really bad as well on my '09. Is this an official TSB/Replacement option? I thought I was just going to be stuck with it because of the FL heat.

I would push your dealer and get corporate involved before I run to an upholstery shop and drop $500-$600... I do believe that some years have a recall yes. Other dealers do good will repairs.

I'm also in Houston TX and my 2009 LS460 has the same issue.
talked to Westside Lexus one year ago and they wanted me to stop by in a hot day when the door panel is melting and sticky and in its worst condition, so that they can take photos to send to Lexus to get the repair approved. will do so in a few months.

Called Lexus 1-800 number, agent looked up my vin number and told me that my 2009 LS460 does not qualify for the door panel replacement. Suggested me to call My local Lexus dealer to see if they would offer any help.
Called the local Lexus dealer. This time they told me right away that my LS is not in the warranty enhancement plan, won't be covered for the door panel replacement.
Are they closing the door for the good-will door panel replacement?
Wonder what's the trick behind the success stories of other 2009 or even 2011 LS460's. Thanks.

Pole Position
My 08 not only has the sticky panels, the drivers side door armrest has cracked and is getting worse. I called Lexus corporate and they weren't will do do anything. Had it been an 07, yes, but 08, no. Considering I called them 2 years ago when the car was 8 years old, I understand to a degree. But, with so many issues, you'd think they'd consider some relief.

Also a 2008 LS owner here in Houston... same issue. Been calling Lexus corporate for 2-3+ years with the issue with no luck. Started with sticky door panels, now getting cracks. Will keep calling...

Door Panels
I have an 08 with the sticky door panels. Lexus Corporate rude female rep shot me down immediately. Not covered,
no goodwill exchange. Very disapointed when they know very well this is a manufacturing flaw and should have been recalled.
Disappointed !!!!!!

Lexus Fanatic
That is just pathetic they refuse to do what is right and fix or at least help fix the design flaw/poor material they used. This is their flagship sedan, these kind of problems should not be happening on a car like this and the least they can do is make it right, worse thing is it seems like they pick and choose who they will or won't cover.
