Default Nav/Audio Software 2014 vs 2017

Hi Guys,

I am taking my car int o get a few repairs done under warranty and I had a quick questions about the navigation software. I noticed that the 2017 has a very different looking interface than the one in my 2014. I have the ML stereo if that makes a difference.

Can I/ should I get the software updated? I am not talking about the actual maps, but the interface/UI of it. Is this even possible? I know with BMW people could get this done, sometimes at a small cost.

I would love to know this also. I have a 2013 with ML and would love to have the navigation on the right side...

I think the 2017 has a different NAV generation from the 2014, hence the different look. Updates are normally for the street database not the interface.

Go to www.lexusdrivers.com and check out "Resources".
Starting with the 2014's some Lexi have a multimedia update available.
This is NOT a Nav update but just Bluetooth and voice recognition type tweeks.
Below is the complete link for your 2014 LS w/Nav...no update at this time,
nor for my 2014 ES300h w/Nav either

I have a 2104 and I can get the car to read my texts to me but I can't reply to any. Is that normal? I have an iphone 6s.

Do you mean that the reply button doesn't do anything? When I hit the reply button, it goes to the list of canned replies that comes with the system. You can customize the reply selection and add your own, but it won't let you type in responses or speak responses back.

The canned replies to text messages don't work for me either on my 2013. I use an Android phone. I get a "not sent" message, or something similar.

The canned responses are for android phones, your iPhone can compose easily using Siri.
Press and hold the "off hook" steering wheel button. When you hear the Siri trill you can
say "text John Smith mobile" to initiate or "respond text" to return a text. Wait until Siri
says "what do you want to say to John Smith?" Compose and she will repeat it, Send? Yes!
Plenty of checks and rechecks as to whom you are sending and what you are saying.
Be patient as this works "at the speed of Siri".

Standard mobile phone/BT procedure...turn the phone completely off, cold, dark, dead about once a week.
Phones will work for months making calls, they will Play better with Others when you cycle them.

This is what my screen looks like after the notification has popped up and I push “read”.

I dont have a “reply” button anywhere.

I have used Siri but I have never been able to hit reply. It is “hey Siri send message to _____. ...
